Living in Your SweetSpot

As I am writing this, I am watching the 2019 Women’s Tennis Finals at Wimbledon in England. Wimbledon is one of the five grand slam tournaments where only the most elite athletes are able to compete.

The two players, Serena Williams and Simone Halep have prepared every day to compete at this level. They have spent years training their bodies, with hours of practice, proper nutrition and working with coaches so this day could become a reality.

They are living in what I would call their sweet-spot.

What is a sweet-spot?

Declarations

Many years ago, I came across this Scripture in Job 22:28, “You will also decide and decree a thing, and it will be established for you;
And the light [of God’s favor] will shine upon your ways.”

Since that time, I love declaring the Word of God.

For when we declare the Word, several things happen.

1. When the Word of God is declared it requires a response, an answer. Isaiah 55:11 AMP says that when the Word of God is released, it accomplishes what was intended from the Word —

“It will not return to Me void (useless, without result) without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.”

2. The Word we declare becomes fixed in our life. It is established for us to live from.

3. The declared Word becomes our Light — Jesus! Jesus is the Word and Jesus is the Light of the World.

4. The declared Word becomes the path that opens the doors for you to step into and closes doors that are not for you. The Word brings clarity, discernment, and power as it responds to your declaration!

Why do I share this with you? Because I want the power of declaring the WORD to be in your hands. Here is how to do it.

Celebrating America

This week the United States of America will be 243 years old — Happy Birthday!I am honoring America with a short story from my book, Insights for an Abundant Life, which is available to purchase on Amazon.

America, The Beautiful was written about our incredible nation. Kathleen Lee Bates originally wrote these words as a poem in 1895 in response to the beauty that captured her as she looked at the land below from the top of Pike’s Peak.

Woven within this patriotic song is a psalm of worship, praise, and prayer to God. The words lead us in acknowledging His beautiful creation, praising His great grace poured out upon us and praying for His refining fire for our great country.

We sing this song to You, Lord God. Hear the cry of Your people and heal this great nation, Mighty God!

Happy Birthday America!

What do you love about America?

Get Unstuck

Are you stuck?

As we work toward our goals, sometimes we get stuck. We are not sure what to do next. So, today we are going talk about how to get unstuck.

I know I have been in that situation many times.  I would reach a certain point of completion and then I could not quite figure out what is next. Even with this week’s episode, I was stuck. I knew what I wanted to write on, but I couldn’t get it to flow.

I want to share with you how to get unstuck. Here are four steps that will help you get unstuck. These four quick steps have worked well for me over the years.

Season of Generosity

Over the last month I have traveled to Atlanta and Minneapolis. I have met with some amazing people who are running hard after what God has for them in this season. One thing I have noticed with all of my travels is an increase of outpouring of generosity.

It has been interesting watching this overflowing generosity. And what is so amazing, it is not just one person expressing generosity, but almost everyone I encounter.

Read my Blog or Listen to my Podcast for my examples of what happened to me.

I believe generosity goes with the season we are in right now. There is an outpouring of the Presence of God in signs and wonders and this has stirred up a heart of generosity to go with it.

Have you recognized an increase in generosity?

Influencer

Influencer is the new word emerging.  An influencer is someone who is able to mold our perspective such as fashion, politics and social media.

I recently spoke at a conference about the Business Mountain, which is part of the 7 Mountains of Societal Influence. (Education, Religion, Government, Business, Media, Arts and Entertainment)

God has opened the door for us to be great influencers in the business world. He has invited us to partner with Him in bringing His Spirit of Excellence and Revelation to our workplace.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord. (Colossians 3:23 NIV)

When we carry His Excellence in what we do, favor, promotions and increases come with it. I want to share two testimonies to encourage you in your area of influence.

Can you imagine boldly asking for an extra $10,000 from your place of work?

Excellence is the currency employers are seeking. And when they find someone who can deliver — like you —- they will bless your excellence!

God has given you everything you need to pour out His excellence. His word says we are to set our heart toward excellence.

Change Your Words – Change Your Life

When I was growing up we use to say to someone who was calling us names, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never harm me.”

What a lie!

Words are the most powerful weapon we possess. There is life and death in the power of the tongue! (See Proverbs 18:21) The words we speak become our mindset.

Our mindset forms what we believe and what we believe creates the framework we build our life around — whether positive or negative, true or false. Think about the false statement I opened with and the mindset it produces.  It says when people say mean and hurtful things to us, it is harmless. When in reality, hurtful words can cause emotional damage to our souls. And as we know our physical health is dependent on the health of our soul.

How do we change our mindset?

Two Types of Transition

Are you in a transition in your personal life, career, or relationship?

Well, if you answered YES, which type of transition are you in?

There are two types of transition.
One moves you from place to place.
The other moves you from one place to the next, but brings transformation with the transition.

The real questions for you today is —

Am I just moving from place to place?
Am I following God and being transformed as I move?

If you feel like you are stuck and not going from one transition to the next with transformation, you can choose to include transformation.

Envisioning Your Future

I remember when I was kid, I dreamed of being a superhero! I would lay in the driveway in front of my house and daydream about what kind of superhero I would be. I would see myself flying in the air in my cute superhero outfit, rescuing and protecting others.

In many instances, the way we think things are going to look evolves as we grow up. Of course, what I envisioned for the future has changed dramatically from what I thought it would look like as a child. However, the passion to help others has not changed, it just looks different.

Envisioning your future…why is it important?

How do you begin?

“Have you ever thought about partnering with God for your dreams? What a thrill it would be to join forces with God to make your dreams come true? God is a dream giver and He is a dream fulfiller. Our dreams come alive as we spend time with the Lord. He unfolds things we think are impossible and they suddenly become possible!”

Let’s Get Messy!

Maybe you think about a mess as a Tough Mudder Obstacle Course, a pie eating contest, finger painting, or getting caught in the rain?

Today, I am talking about a different kind of mess — I am using the word mess to describe when the things of God are out of our understanding or our control and appear to be messy.

Let’s take a look at Scripture from Proverbs 14:4 in the Passion Translation:

“The only clean stable is an empty stable. So if you want the work of an ox and to enjoy an abundant harvest, you’ll have a mess or two to clean up!”
Proverbs 14:4 TPT

What this is really saying is as we grow in relationship with God our experiences with Him can appear to be messy. The reason for this appearing to be messy is because we are seeing in part and not from the fullness of God’s perspective.

It may sound strange, but there is a messiness in being open to the Holy Spirit. This appearance of messiness occurs because we only have glimpses of what God is wanting to do through us and for us so it appears to be a mess. But to God, it is beautifully and perfectly orchestrated.
